It can be a complete pain to find real masculine men in gay porn. It seems like everyone is obsessed with slender smooth twinks - sometimes I want to see a hairy rugged guy having his way with anyone that comes his way. It seems like Gay Bear XXX might just address this pressing need for me. They have bears of all ages and levels of hairiness.
The member's area of Gay Bear XXX is laid out nicely, with navigation at the top and a sidebar with random bits and pieces. There's also a handy search box that goes by both category keywords and model names - I wish more sites had that kind of thing around. It starts to get confusing after this, though. Instead of having the content for the site right on the page, it seems like one is off on a page of its own for some reason, and the other is just a content feed. There are only 10 sets for the actual Bear Gay XXX section, each with a photo and video set. The other, Bear Partrol, makes you click through page by page and it's really hard to tell where one video ends and the other begins. As this is just feed content, however, it's time to turn back to the actual site content.
With only 10 videos, I doubt they actually update this site. Gay bears is a niche that really needs lots of love, because there is a ton of people like me that really want to see some hairy, burly guys getting it on. 10 videos is not the love that I'm looking for. The videos are offered in WMV and Quicktime, with two different sizes for the WMV. They are all streaming only unfortunately, and it also looks like they are picked out of the various sites this company also runs. You can see this by the labels on the videos themselves - they are referencing other sites. It gets even more annoying once you start watching the videos. Although there is one option that is labeled 640x480, all they do is make the player window bigger and give the 320x240 video a big black border. Are you serious? The bitrate is also on the crappy side at 500 kbps, so you can't even enlarge the videos to pretend that the quality isn't bad. I also didn't like not having a full scene option - instead I have to click click click away while I should just be trying to whack off to the sexy bears. When you're watching a 50 minute video with 5 minute clips, that's a lot more clicking than I want to be doing.
The pictures are a better experience than the videos by far. There is a set of digital stills with each video, and they are good quality at 533x800. That's still smaller than I would have liked to have seen, but after the videos it's a nice pick me up at least. Although there are no slideshows, you can download the set as a zip file, or you can look at it via Pic Lens, which is a neat little app that pretties up all sorts of photo galleries. This is only the second network that I've seen using this functionality.
There are 7 bonus sites made by the same company, but you aren't going to see any other bear specific content. There is a muscle site, but not all of the guys there are bears. Along with those are nine bonus feeds. Both sites and feeds are gay and tranny, so hopefully you can find something of interest.
Gay Bear XXX was a disappointment through and through. All they really have are videos taken from other sites on their networks - there is nothing exclusive to the site at all. Add that to the fact that there are only 10 videos and they aren't even in the advertised size, and you can see why I'm so annoyed. I was expecting a lot more from this site, but instead there's just a lackluster attempt at pandering to the bear market. The only reason I could think of to join this site is if you really wanted to get network access, but if you're a bear fan only you should steer clear.
